This Privacy Policy explains how HiCalculator handles information connected with our product and support. It applies when you use HiCalculator, contact us, or otherwise interact with us.
Apple may also process information when you download HiCalculator or make an App Store purchase. Apple’s own privacy policy and transaction terms apply to those services.
Information we may receive
We may receive information you choose to share with us, including your email address, message, attachments, and device or app details you provide when requesting support. Please do not send passcodes, passwords, recovery codes, payment credentials, or private content.
Apple provides and manages its own purchase experience. We do not ask you to send payment-card details to us for an App Store purchase.
How we use information
We use information to answer support requests, investigate reported issues, protect HiCalculator from misuse, improve the experience, and meet legal obligations. We only use support correspondence for purposes reasonably connected to providing support and operating HiCalculator.
App analytics and diagnostics
HiCalculator may collect limited, non-content information about how the app is used, such as feature interactions, screens or flows opened, session and performance events, crash reports, and basic device, operating-system, and app-version details. We use this information to understand what works, identify friction, diagnose errors, prioritize improvements, and develop new features.
This information is intended to describe app usage and performance, not to inspect the private material you keep in HiCalculator. We do not use analytics or diagnostics to read your vault content, passwords, passcodes, backup passwords, encryption keys, photos, notes, contacts, or other private material.
We do not sell this information or use it to facilitate unlawful activity, misuse personal information, or circumvent Apple’s App Store or platform requirements. We use it only for legitimate product, safety, support, and legal purposes, and may use service providers that process it on our instructions.
Backup and private data access
Backups created in HiCalculator use zero-knowledge AES 256-bit encryption. All vault databases, app settings, and media content (photos, videos, notes) are encrypted on-device into a protected archive using a 256-bit key derived directly from the SHA-256 hash of your custom backup password.
HiCalculator support cannot open, unlock, decrypt, reset, reconstruct, or recover any backup file when its password or encryption key has been forgotten. Decryption is performed entirely on your device during restore; if the password is incorrect or data has been altered, decryption fails and halts automatically. We do not keep a master key or a copy of your backup password for recovery.
We do not access, inspect, modify, delete, transfer, or otherwise intervene in your vault content, private files, or backup data. We do not ask you to send backup files, passcodes, passwords, encryption keys, or private content to support. You are responsible for keeping your passcodes, backup passwords, keys, and verified backup copies safe.
Your choices
You decide whether to contact support and what to include in your message. You may ask us to update or delete support correspondence where applicable; some records may need to be retained for legitimate operational, security, or legal reasons.
For App Store subscriptions, purchases, cancellations, and refunds, use your Apple Account and Apple’s support tools.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information we receive. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain support information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide support, maintain records, resolve disputes, protect HiCalculator, or comply with legal obligations.
Updates and contact
We may update this policy as HiCalculator changes or legal requirements evolve. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
